Black Women Photographers: Laila Stevens

This month, we are partnering with Black Women Photographers (BWP), a global community and directory of Black women and non-binary photographers, founded by Polly Irungu.

BWP’s goal is to provide consistent, professional, and more opportunities for Black women photographers in the industry, as well as be a resource for industry gatekeepers looking for emerging and more advanced talent.

Laila Stevens is 19-year-old photographer and visual artist. Her work focuses on portraiture through bold documentation and storytelling, particularly on youth members of marginalized communities, as it relates to identity and the creation of a safe space. She is currently producing an on-going project documenting LGBTQ+ youth and housing across America.
