[OPEN CALL] Spaces Between: Liminality in film photography

  • Bushwick Community Darkroom PO Box 20437 New York, NY 10009 (map)

We invite you to submit your work for our upcoming open call themed "Spaces Between: Liminality in Film Photography." This exhibit seeks to delve into the fascinating world of liminal spaces—those transitional or transformative areas that exist between two states. In these uncertain times, society itself stands at a liminal crossroads, teetering between diverging paths.

As we grapple with profound political and social shifts, the question looms: will we move towards fascism or socialism? Whether it's the quiet stillness of an empty hallway, or the fleeting moments of dawn and dusk, liminal spaces evoke a sense of mystery and wonder.

We are looking for film photography that captures these elusive, in-between moments and places, reflecting the broader uncertainty and potential of our current societal moment. Show us your unique perspective on the spaces that lie on the threshold, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Join us in this exploration of the transient and the transitional, and let your work be part of a captivating visual journey into the unknown.
