February is Black History Month!

BCD firmly believes black lives and experiences should be celebrated everyday and we are excited to begin our intentional work through learning, partnering and making spaces with Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). 

We are thrilled to be partnering this month with Black Women Photographers (BWP), a global community and directory of Black women and non-binary photographers, founded by Polly Irungu.

BWP’s goal is to provide consistent, professional, and more opportunities for Black women photographers in the industry, as well as be a resource for industry gatekeepers looking for emerging and more advanced talent.

As an initial step, BCD has invited Black lens-based artists to share with our community throughout the month and have extended a keyshare membership, determined by Polly and BWP. We are excited to begin this new chapter and grateful for the support from our community.
