MIRANDA JANAN is a multidisciplinary Palestinian-American visual artist. She primarily works with charcoal and water, watercolor, and acrylic in her painting work to capture movement and energy. Her work explores themes of movement, displacement, place, and home. These photographs were taken from her second time in her ancestral homeland, Ramallah Palestine, in August of 2024. The photographs capture the destruction of homes, military checkpoints, citizen surveillance, and native plants continuing to thrive despite of an illegal occupation.
